Calcium oxide (CaO), Limestone, Calcium hydroxide, Dolomite & Dolomite Ore

Quicklime - Calcium oxide (CaO),
commonly known as quicklime or burnt lime, is a widely used chemical compound. It is a white, caustic, alkaline, crystalline solid at room temperature. The broadly used term lime connotes calcium-containing inorganic materials, in which carbonates, oxides and hydroxides of calcium, silicon, magnesium, aluminum, and iron predominate. By contrast, quicklime specifically applies to the single chemical compound calcium oxide.

Limestone ...
is a sedimentary rock composed mostly of the mineral calcite and comprising about 15% of the Earth’s sedimentary crust. It is a basic building block of the construction industry (dimension stone) and a chief material from which aggregate, cement, lime and building stone are made. As a source for lime, it is used to make paper, plastics, glass, paint, steel, cement, carpets, used in water treatment and purification plants and in the processing of various foods and household items (including medicines).

Hydrated Lime (Slaked Lime)

Calcium hydroxide (traditionally called slaked lime) is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca (OH) 2. It is a colorless crystal or white powder and is obtained when calcium oxide (called lime or quicklime) is mixed, or slaked with water. It has many names including hydrated lime, caustic lime, builders’ lime, slack lime, cal, or pickling lime. Calcium hydroxide is used in many applications, including food preparation.

Calcined Dolomite

Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate mineral which has many characteristics similar to calcite. In places where access to limestone is not available or more costly, dolomites are used in its place for the basic materials from which most building stone and a significant percentage of crushed stone are produced. Calcine Dolomite is obtained from the heating of dolomite rock at a temperature of 1100 ° C, which lasts at least 2.5 to 3 hours at an average temperature of 1000 ° C

Applications

  1. Iron & steel industry
  2. Non-ferrous metals
  3. Glass Industry
  4. Ore concentration
  5. Alumina & bauxite
  6. Gas treatment
  7. Hazardous waste treatment
  8. Animal waste treatment
